Compliance
Compliance isn't an add-on. It's how the plan runs.
ERISA
Plan documents, summary plan descriptions, summary of benefits and coverage, and required participant notices are produced and maintained as part of administration.
ACA
Self-funded plans are subject to most ACA requirements. Employer reporting under sections 6055 and 6056 — the 1094 and 1095 filings — is handled as part of plan administration.
HIPAA
Privacy and security safeguards are built into our claims, member and employer systems. We do not capture PHI on this website. Operational requests use the secure portals.
What does switching plan administrators involve?
Primarily data and communication. We need your current eligibility file, plan documents and claims history. We handle the setup on our end and work with your broker to make the transition invisible to employees.
How long does implementation take?
For most employer groups, 30 to 45 days from signed agreement to coverage effective date. When needed, we can initiate coverage in days, not weeks.
Who handles COBRA administration?
MBA TPA includes COBRA as part of the administration relationship. Qualifying event notices, election packets and premium collection are handled by our team — not passed back to your HR department.
What reporting do employers receive?
Monthly: claims activity, utilization by category, enrollment changes and billing summaries. Quarterly reviews available with your dedicated contact.
